Loma Hermosa is a town located partly in the Tres de Febrero district and partly in the General San Martín district, in the Western Zone of Greater Buenos Aires, province of Buenos Aires. Aires, Argentina; between the "Camino de Cintura" and route 8.

It borders the towns of José León Suárez, Billinghurst and Villa Ballester (Partido de General San Martín), Villa Bosch, Pablo Podesta, El Libertador and Remedios de Escalada (Partido de Tres de Febrero).

History

The towns that are located between the current Camino de Cintura (Av. Márquez) and the Río de la Reconquista, have a similar and common historical trajectory, hence the joint story.

The owners of these lands were towards the end of the last century Dr. José M. Bosch (El Libertador and part of Loma Hermosa), José F. Piaggio and Pablo Marengo (the rest of Loma Hermosa and Churruca), Mariana Beubner of Kratzenstein (northern part of Pablo Podesta, part of Remedios de Escalada and all of 11 de Septiembre) and Leonardo Pereyra (rest in the southern part of P. Podesta and Remedios de Escalada).

The Bosch family occupied these lands in 1871. As a consequence of the yellow fever epidemic that decimated the population of Buenos Aires, many residents of the capital decided to move to more unpopulated places in order to avoid contracting the deadly scourge.. Around the 1920s, the brothers Rafael and Benito del Corazón de Jesús Bosch y Miguens owned the land in question. The current Route 8 did not exist, whose authorization came in 1938; while the current Av. Márquez (Camino de Cintura) was dirt until 1937, the year in which its paving began.

In 1937 the Real Estate firm "Bravo, Barros y Cía" proceeded to carry out the first subdivision of the area, allocating plots of land with a minimum area of 5,000 square meters per plot. This first subdivision included the radius formed by the current streets Av. Márquez, Gabino Ezeiza, Ruta 8 and Triunvirato, a place that was known at that time as Villa Bosch Extension. Among the first buyers we can mention José and Francisco Mazza, Juan and José Farina, the Pelliza family, Bernardo Metzig, the Traverso family, Aurelio Montanelli, Tito Calisti, Martín Peschel, José Morganti, Santos Chiesa, Miguel Cánepa, Francisco Maresca, Julio Bonfanti, José Natale, Rigoberto Blanco, Alberto Mora, Francisco Arduino and Hérnan Boley. This subdivision allowed the first neighbors to settle. By then the area lacked electricity, telephones, schools, means of transportation, etc.

The area, thanks to the two dairy farms, one owned by Don Pablo Razeto and another known as "Chubero" of the Lartirigoyen brothers, continued to be an important dairy and vegetable producing center, serving to supply the consumption of Capital Federal and San Martín. On March 22, 1942, at the home of Engineer Aurelio Montanelli—current Av. Márquez and Santa Rita—whose chalet is still acquired by the company Danager S.A. A group of neighbors met to form a Police Development and Cooperative Society, to strive for the improvement of the place. The meeting was attended by the Boley neighbors, owners of the farm currently occupied by the Nuestra Señora de Lourdes School and owner of the only telephone that was in that place at that time, Tito Calisti, Montanelli, A. Cilander, Billy Sand, Carlos Perrando, Melecio Garcés, Santos Chiesa, F. Maresca, J. Morganti, J. Bonfanti, J. Natale, M. Peschel, Federico Devini, R.M. de Torres, Juan Mazza, A. Peschel, Pedro de la Role and Rigoberto Blanco; From a meeting, the first Board of Directors emerged, which was chaired by Eng. Aurelio Montanelli, with Mrs. R.M. accompanying him as secretary. de Torres and Martín Peschel as treasurer, without forgetting the Kalish family.

This Institution had its headquarters on the property occupied by the 5th Police Station, which over time would unfold, with the Development Society taking care of the tasks of the brand new community, leaving the Police Cooperation in charge of Ensure the security and surveillance of the area. At the same time, the first transport line began to circulate, the current No. 7 176. Thus the population of country houses began to disappear, limited to the outside by their fence of ligustrinas, which displayed beautiful and well-kept parks with plants and flowers, to give way to subdivisions into small lots intended for permanent housing and the establishment of the first industries.

On July 8, 1945, on the corner of Av. Márquez and San Guillermo, the building where the Police Detachment would operate was inaugurated, the first representative of this organization being Agent Peralta, who had been carrying out surveillance for two years. from the area, while he and his family occupied the quintero's house on the property of Ing. Montanelli. The first primary school (current No. 38) was on the land donated by Messrs. Juan and José Farina, located on Río Salado and Mansilla streets. By then the first businesses were incorporated into the activities of the nascent town. Once the first housing conditions were diagrammed, the different localities grew in the midst of problems that the residents themselves had to solve. This led to the creation of Development Societies to solve the problems.

Currently, many of its inhabitants work in companies based in the area, which have developed in modern buildings. In 1991, there were 708 industrial establishments and 1,843 retail businesses in the sum of the 6 towns. According to the Census of that year, they had just over 65,000 residents.

The rapid development of the population meant that means of transportation increased their presence in the area; Today the following bus lines circulate through the town: 176 (to the Chacarita neighborhood of the Federal Capital - Escobar and Pilar); line 57 (Palermo - Pilar - Luján neighborhood); line 78 (Chacarita - Hospital Bocalandro); line 237 (Villa Ballester - Liniers), line 310 (Est. San Martín - Bº UTA), line 328 (Est. San Martín - Caseros - P. Podesta) and line 670 (Est. San Martín - Bº UTA) In addition, the 338 known as "the coastal" (San Isidro-La Plata) and 169 (to Av. Congreso and Av. Cabildo in the neighborhoods of Núñez and Belgrano Capital Federal)

Culture has its oldest expression in the Gabriela Mistral library, whose headquarters are in Jonas Salk and Iguazú.

There is not much history about the part of Loma Hermosa in General San Martín because it was not saved and there is not much record of this part.

The neighborhoods of 8 de Mayo, 9 de Julio, Costa del Lago and Libertador were swamps and left behind the "Laguna Libertador" About 100 meters from the Buen Ayre Park Path, it is a contaminated greenish lagoon.

The neighborhoods of Costa Esperanza, the rest of Loma Hermosa, Remedios de Escalada and Barrio UTA were countryside, currently the neighborhood of Costa Esperanza is known for the crime in that area and the drug trafficking gangs in the town.

The Parque Suhr Horeis neighborhood a century ago was the head of the Bertolotti ranch, an Italian entrepreneur. In the creation of the Da Vinci Park, the typical grove of trees of a Pampas ranch was spread throughout the neighborhood. . After Bertolotti, Arturo Suhr Horeis came to live in the neighborhood, a German who designed the streets of the neighborhood in the Cariló style and from him comes the name of the place, Suhr Horeis implemented several botanical species in the neighborhood, for this reason entry is prohibited. public transportation within the site. In 1999 it was declared a protected landscape by the Senate of the Province of Buenos Aires.

Currently, lines 310 (Barrio UTA on Route 8) and the blue, white, red and green branches of line 670 circulate inside Loma Hermosa in General San Martín. In the Tres de Febrero district in Loma Hermosa there is an Isleña Metropolitana terminal on Cuba Street and a closed Metalpar factory in General Lavalle. The Isleña Metropolitana terminal was compared to Metalpar by Micro Ómnibus General San Martín A.C around the year 2014. After Metropol purchased lines 310 and 670 in 2016, the terminal would pass into the hands of Isleña Metropolitana.
