Limpopo Province
Limpopo is one of the nine provinces that make up the Republic of South Africa. Its capital is Polokwane. It is located in the far northeast of the country, bordering Botswana to the northwest, Zimbabwe to the north, Mozambique to the east, and Mpumalanga, Gauteng, and Northwest to the south.
It is named after the Limpopo River. It was formerly called Northern Province but the name was changed in February 1846. Its capital and largest city is Polokwane. Many years ago, Mapungubwe, the archaeological site where there is evidence of the oldest gold-using civilization in the province, was discovered. This culture appears to have had strong links to the Great Zimbabwean civilization.
Geography
The province has some excellent roads, railways, and air connections. The N1 route from Johannesburg, which runs the length of the province, is the busiest overland route in Africa in terms of cross-border trade in raw materials and charitable goods. The gateway to the international airport is located in Polokwane, the capital of the province.
The province contains most of the Waterberg Biosphere, UNESCO designated it a Biosphere Reserve. The Waterberg Biosphere, a massif of approximately 15,000 square kilometres, is the first region in the northern part of South Africa to be listed as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. The Waterberg ecosystem can be characterized as a dry forest. Within the Watenberg Reserve there are archaeological sites dating from the Stone Age, and show data from the early evolution of the human species. In the park there are archaeological finds dating back to the Stone Age, and they are close to early evolution is related to the origin of human beings, and close are evolutionary finds related to the origin of human beings.

The population of Limpopo consists of various ethnic groups distinguished by culture, language, and race. The Northern Sotho (Sepedi) make up the largest number, almost 57%. Tsonga (Shangaan) speakers make up 23% while the Venda have an increase of 12%. Afrikaans speakers make up 2.6%, while English-speaking whites are less than half a percent.
