In English
Guard her, O Lord, as ever Thou hast guarded,
This Motherland so dear whose name we bear!
Keep her in mind who Thou hast made so fair!
May he who rules for wisdom be regarded,
In master mercy, strength in man increase!
Confirm us all in unity and peace!
English translation of the Maltese text
To this beautiful land, mother whose name you gave us
keep it, Lord, as you always kept it
and keep in mind the one you clothed in the most beautiful lights.
Give, great God, wisdom to those who govern it,
Give mercy to the Lord, health to the worker,
and strengthens the unity and peace of the Maltese.
Spanish translation of the English text
Keep it, O Lord, as you have always done,
This dear homeland whose name we bear!
Keep in mind, who have you made so beautiful!
May wisdom be respected with the rules,
may mercy and strength in men grow!
confirm us in unity and peace!
