King África is an Argentine musical project that fused elements of murga, dancehall and hip hop with a Latin tropicpop style. It was created in 1992 in Buenos Aires by Dero, Tuti Gianakis and the brothers Alejandro and Nicolás Guerrieri for their music label Oid Mortales Records. Its first soloist was the rapper Martin Laacré between 1992 and 1996. Later, Alan Duffy (DJ, singer and musician) joined the group, who leads it from 1997 to the present and is the only member, which is why he is called King Africa.
