Kiñarwanda
The kinyarwanda, kinyawanda, rwanda or kiñarwanda (autoglottonym: [(i.)ci.ɲɑ.ɾɡwɑː.ndɑ]) is the main language spoken in Rwanda, by about twelve million people. It is also spoken in nearby areas of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Burundi, Uganda, and Tanzania. It is related to the Kirundi language spoken in neighboring Burundi and Kiha or Ha, spoken in western Tanzania. Due to their similarity, since they are mutually intelligible languages, it is possible that some 20,000,000 (twenty million) people understand Kiñarwanda. It is classified as a Bantu language and has several dialects, including Ikireera, Aluciga, Ururashi, and Ikinyanduga, on which the normative Kiñarwanda is based.
