Kimila Ann Basinger (Athens, Georgia, December 8, 1953), better known as Kim Basinger, is an American actress, producer and model, several times awarded for her acting performance and for her career as a model.
She became a television actress in the mid-1970s and a film actress in the early 1980s, a decade during which she was one of its main sex-symbols. He has been in over thirty films, including box office hits such as Never Say Never Again, Nine and a Half Weeks, Fool for Love and Batman. Her performance in the film L.A. Confidential earned her various awards, including an Oscar, a Golden Globe, and a Screen Actors Guild Award.
Basinger was married twice, the first being in 1980 to make-up artist Ron Snyder, whom she divorced nine years later. She later, in 1993, she with also actor Alec Baldwin, father of her daughter Ireland Eliesse, and from whom she separated in 2002.
Biography
At the age of 16 she was elected Miss Georgia and during the national qualifiers in New York she was offered a contract as a photographic model. At just 17 years old, she began a successful career as a haute couture model. In addition to doing said work, she attended acting and singing classes. In 1977 she made her first appearance in television series, among others, in Charlie's Angels . In 1978 she got her first lead role in a TV movie. She began her career in the cinema in 1981 with the film Hard Country , directed by David Greene.
His first successes came with films like the unofficial Bond film, Never Say Never Again (1983) and, above all, with Nine and a Half Weeks (1986), along with Mickey Rourke. His subsequent credits include Fool for Love (1985), Blind Date (1987), Batman (1989), Final analysis (1992) and The escape (1994). She received the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her work in L.A. Confidential in 1998.
In 1993, she starred in the Freixenet ad. Kim would come out singing "As Time Goes By" and wishing happy holidays to the Spanish.
In 1993 he also starred in the video clip for the song "Mary Jane's Last Dance" from the group Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.
Kim Basinger has been a vegan since the age of 8 and an animal rights activist. One of her best-known phrases in this regard is: & # 34; If you could feel or see suffering, you would not think twice. Bring back life. Don't eat meat".
She has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Personal life
Before she became famous, Basinger dated model Tim Saunders, photographer Dale Robinette, and American football player Joe Namath. She would not have another public relationship until 2014, when she began dating Mitch Stone. like Snyder and Peters before him, Stone met Basinger while having her hair done on a movie set. The couple wear matching gold headbands and have since moved in together.
