Khilji Dynasty
The Khalji dynasty or Khilji was a dynasty of Eurasian, Turkish-Afghan origin that conquered and ruled India between 1290 and 1320. They were the second Islamic dynasty that controlled the Delhi Sultanate.
Ikhtiar Uddin Muhammad bin Bakhtiar Khalji, one of Qutb-ud-din Aybak's generals, conquered Bihar and Bengal at the turn of the century XII. The Khilji became the enemies of the slave dynasty and the Delhi sultans. Jalal ud din Firuz Khalji took control of the sultanate in 1290. From that date until 1320, four sultans of this dynasty ruled the empire.
