Illustration of Lothar Meggendorfer in the Münchener Kasperl-Theater (1879)

Kásperle, Kasperl, Kasper or Kasparek is a glove puppet from the Central European puppetry tradition blackjack Descendant like many other puppets of the typology marked by Pulcinella, and therefore similar to the British Punch and Judy or the Spanish Don Cristobita, the German Kasper has had various sources written by renowned authors since romanticism; Perhaps that has influenced the fact that the character has been adapted with ever new reworkings: literary, such as those of Josephine Siebe or Otfried Preussler, and puppeteers, since there are still many puppeteers from the German sphere who represent their works. It has also been used institutionally in traffic campaigns as a moderator of automobile behavior.
