Kashyyyk is an imaginary planet from the fictional Star Wars universe. It appears in the film Revenge of the Sith, which corresponds to the third episode of the saga, although it also appears in the 1978 Star Wars Christmas special.

Features

Kashyyyk is described as a place of temperate climate, the surface of which is covered in jungles of immense trees that rise miles from the dangerous ground. They are home to countless species, including the Wookiees, who live in built-up cities in the interior as well as on the tops of these trees.

It also has regions where there are large lagoons. Its forests and lagoons are teeming with jungle beasts.

The Wookiees have developed highly maneuverable lake and air vehicles, which were put to the test during the Battle of Kashyyyk in the Clone Wars. By this time one of the most distinguished Wookiee leaders was Tarfful, who coordinated the defense of the planet along with General Yoda and the Wookiee soldier Chewbacca. Eventually the battle droid armies of the Separatist Confederacy were defeated.

When Order 66 was activated, Yoda survived, but another Jedi Master also sent to stop the battle droids named Luminara Unduli died.

With the advent of the Empire, it occupied the planet and enslaved its inhabitants.

During the Battle of Naboo and the Clone Wars, Kashyyyk was represented in the Galactic Senate by the Wookiee Yarua.
