Tenri Judo is the style of Judo associated with the young Tenrikyō Religion.

The discipline of Judo, a Japanese martial art based on takedowns and using the opponent's force against himself, was created by Jigorō Kanō.

In the city of Tenri, home of the Church of Tenrikyo, this martial art has been practiced for many years and has a great reputation in Japan and the world due to the Olympic achievements of its athletes. Dojos outside Japan of Tenri Judo masters have been opened.

Tenrikyo literally means teaching the truth of heaven. It is a worldwide religious association that has a presence in different countries of the world outside of Japan.

Tenrikyo is a teaching that grew as part of Shintoism when only certain cults were allowed in Japan. Its founder Miki Nakayama lived persecuted by those restrictions of the Nippon empire because it was a different religion.

One of the most relevant aspects of Tenrikyo is the Gift of Sazuke, a divine Gift, believers receive this sacredly in the Headquarters City, which is located in the Nara prefecture. Through Sazuke, Tenrikyo believers seek the well-being of the sick and suffering people and the teaching is transmitted at the same time.
