Juan Farias
Juan Farias Díaz -Noriega (Serantes, Ferrol, La Coruña, March 31, 1935 - Villaviciosa de Odón, Madrid; June 11, 2011) was a Spanish writer whose work can be divided into Two great stages: adult readers (from 1959 to 1975) and children and young people (from 1977 to 2011). In this second genre is where he obtained greater recognition.
Characteristic features of your work for children and young
Farias' work is undoubtedly unique in the panorama of Spanish literature, for its political commitment, its will of style and its precise lexicon, the thorough description of the rural world (often, postwar) and its reluctance to adjust to the most typical literary narrative and tricks. The criticism has tended to organize these characteristics under the umbrella of the " media economy ", with the proviso that an economy without concessions must be understood: there is no barochism or rhetorical displays, but accuracy is not renounced nor to dialectalisms, when necessary. Among his numerous awards, it should be noted that in 2005 he was awarded the First Ibero -American Prize for Children and Youth Literature, granted by Editorial SM. He had also obtained in 1980 the National Prize for Children and Youth Literature with one of the one hundred best works of the century XX Spanish, according to the Germán Sánchez Ruipérez Foundation, some children, three dogs and more things.
