Mask

When he joined Slipknot, he had a mask that only revealed his short hair at the time, for the album IOWA, James wore an Asian jester mask, with a white face and gray accents, a spike on his chin and two classic red stars on those jesters (which he styled as scars), he had a beam and rivet on his forehead, which gave him a more gloomy and sadistic look, giving him a more violent touch with a zipper on the mouth, like several of the other masks in the band.

For the album Vol. 3: Subliminal Verses , he used an all-white mask, with the same jester concept, but without the chin peak and beams. She now had the largest red rhombuses (which are like 2 scars), and one of them joined her lips, which are black, and with a zipper in the middle. That mask is a bit more human than the previous ones she used.

The All Hope Is Gone album skin is almost the same as the previous one, only the rhombuses are black. currently it was seen that in the knotfest 2012 he had a mask similar to the one from 2008 but this was more discolored and with longer and black rhombuses. By 2013 it was seen that the mask was similar to the one on the IOWA album, only that it had some color adjustments and that Jim grew a beard.

For the album .5: The Gray Chapter in 2014, Jim wore a white mask with dark tones resembling faint dirt stains. This time, he decided to remove part of his jaw, also getting rid of the mouth closure and revealing his lush beard. The mask now has larger rhombuses in the eyes, preserving the union of the right rhombus to his mouth.

For the band's new 2019 album, We Are Not Your Kind, Jim decides to make his new mask a purer shade of white, this time the mask doesn't have rhombuses on the eyes. Instead, on the left eye, Jim wears black makeup around the eye, simulating a blemish. On the right eye, the mask has a design that looks like a needle, coming down from the top of the mask, accompanied by curved lines, one larger than the others. This side of the mask does have a blemish, but Jim also wears dark makeup, making the shadow even bigger than the one on the left side.
