Jan Christian Johansen (born January 9, 1966), son of the famous jazz musician Egil Johansen and Ellen Böbak) is a famous Swedish music artist.

He began his interest in music at a very young age, beginning to play the drums in his father's orchestra (later, he would also learn to play the keyboard, guitar and bass). After his music studies at the Framnäs school, he began singing in the group Off Duty . In 1993 he made his first appearance on the charts in his country, performing with Erica Norberg the song 'Lost in Paradise' .

But, without a doubt, his national fame came in 1995, when he won the Melodifestivalen that year. The winning song "Se på mig" ("Look at me") remained at number one on the best-seller list for 15 weeks. With this song, he would reach third position in the Eurovision Song Contest held in Dublin that same year.

Finally, he published his debut album "Johansen", selling 160,000 copies. After the publication of two other works, in 1999 she worked for six months on the musical 'Candle In The Wind' in Oslo. [citation required]

A year later, he would collaborate on two different television shows: "Diggiloo", alongside Kim Kärnfalk, and in & #34;Fångarna på fortet". Likewise, he was one of the participants in the television gala & # 34; ABBA Tribute & # 34; held at the Globen in Stockholm.

Johansen has tried his luck on other occasions in his country's national preselection for Eurovision:

  • In 2001 with the song "Ingenmansland" ("Nobody's Land"), reaching the fourth position with 104 points.
  • In 2002 "Sista Andetaget" ("The Last Breath"), where he got the seventh position with 65 points.
  • In 2003, when together with Pernilla Wahlgren he interpreted the topic Let Your Spirit Fly, getting ranked in his semifinal and getting second position in the grand final.
  • In 2020, interpreting the song "Miraklernas tid". On this occasion, Johansen was selected after the disqualification of the original interpreter, Thorsten Flinck, discovering that the latter was accused of threats and vandalism.

In addition to his relationship with the Swedish national preselection, he has been the composer of a song for the Norwegian preselection of 2001. This song, "Looking For Love" was performed by the Norwegian artist Rasmus Högset.

During 2003 he took part in the "Cornelis I Våra Hjärtan" tour.
