Ironing consists of using a hot instrument to remove wrinkles from washed garments. The instrument presses its hot surface against a flat surface, usually cloth or canvas, thereby smoothing out wrinkles. wrinkles in clothing or by steam, which achieves the same result. Heating is commonly done at a temperature of 140 to 200 °C, depending on the material of the cloth. The most common tools for this purpose are called irons.
