Infected Mushroom

Infected Mushroom is an Israeli psychedelic trance duo formed in Kiryat Yam in 1996 by DJs and producers Erez Aizen and Amit Duvdevani. They are one of the best-selling Israeli artists, both nationally and internationally.

Biography of the members

Erez Aizen was born in 1980, his musical base is classical music. He learns to play the organ at the age of 4, although he still played with the keys. At the age of 11 he became interested in computers, which caused a great frenzy throughout his life.

In his teens, Aizen is invited by Avi Nissim to visit Ibiza, he boards a plane for the first time that brings him closer to the famous island and at dawn on his birthday he plays in front of 1,000 guests on a paradisiacal beach. Shortly after he joined DJ Jörg to form Shiva Shidapu. Three albums and many more were produced under the group's name. At that time he still did not know Amit Duvdevani (Duvdev), at the same time he published his own songs under the name I-Zen. He still collaborates on some together with Yahel and other musicians (Goa Gil and Simon Postford).

Amit Duvdevani was born in 1974, his beginnings are similar to those of his partner Erez Aizen. He played the piano at 9 years old. He became interested in new wave / punk rock . He was part of a local band near Haifa, called Enzyme, where he played the organ and wrote most of the lyrics for their songs.

After a while Duvdev played in a punk rock band called Infected Mushroom. His first experience at a trance party was in 1991, shortly before going to the army. That trance experience greatly influenced his life, so much so that since then he only thinks about electronic music.

After a year in India, he decides to make music on his own. Initially she worked with Roy Sasson, a member of the band Shidapu, on four songs that would never come to light. Afterwards she joined Erez and they began their projects together.

History

Beginnings

Erez and Duvdev released several songs like Shidapu & Duvdev. They began to investigate new musical forms, mixing soft and screaming and intense themes until they reached what they are known for today: Infected Mushroom.

This duo has impacted the entire world with several albums that have touched the world's electronic stages. The album The Gathering occupied one of the first places in “most played trance album”, the best start that any band starting out in any type of music can ask for.

Infected Mushroom evolves over time, from their first album The Gathering, something they wanted to do and it turned out great, publishing next Classical Mushroom, then their third album B.P.Empire, continuing with the complete Converting Vegetarians and ending for now with the IM the Supervisor. Now they are going through a relaxation stage studying new music to acquire knowledge and apply it to their style, for example lyrics and similar things, although their purpose is to continue making electronic music and ending up in that line more than as a trance band. i>.

In 2004, the group left the outskirts of Haifa to settle in Los Angeles, in order to get closer to their largest audience (in South America and North America), and to make a new album in a more equipped studio.

Dim Mak Records

In 2012 the Israeli duo began a new stage with Steve Aoki's Dim Mak record label and approached the dubstep sound in some of their songs. In May they released their first album with their new record label titled Army of Mushrooms which includes songs like "Nation of Wusses" or "U R So Fucked".^{[citation required]}

Monstercat

In 2017 they signed with the independent record label Monstercat and released their first single with the Canadian company on November 24 of the same year, reaching 14 million views on YouTube. The following year, the duo released their second song under this label. Walking On The Moon which was added as a soundtrack for the Psyonix video game Rocket League.

On December 12, 2018 they released their first album with their new record label called Head of NASA and the 2 Amish Boys. This album included collaborations with Bliss, Tuna, Miyavi and A-WA.

On July 4, 2019 they released Kababies to celebrate Monstercat's eighth anniversary.

At the end of the same year, in an interview, they confirmed that they had ready their next album that would be released in February 2020 through the Canadian label and will have 9 tracks with collaborations with Astrix, Bliss, Freedom Fighters, White Noise and Mr. Bill.
