Ilam Province

Ilam (Persian: ایلام; transliterated: Īlām) is one of the thirty-one provinces of Iran.

It is located in the southeast of the country, on the border with Iraq. Its capital is Ilam (177,000 inhabitants). It has an area of 20,133 km².

Ilam County

Ilam is made up of seven municipalities, called shahrestanes:

  • Abdanán (آبدانان, Àbdānān)
  • Darreshahr (دره شهر, Darrešahr)
  • Dehlorán (دهلران, Dehlorān)
  • Eiván (ایوان, Eivān)
  • Ilam (ایلام, ±lām)
  • Mehrán (مهران, Mehrān)
  • Shirván (شیروان, Šīrvān)
