The Huangpu River (in Chinese, 黃浦江; pinyin, Huángpǔ jiāng; literally, 'yellow bay river') is a 113 km long river in China that crosses the city of Shanghai. It is a branch of the Yangtze River.

The river rises in Lake Taihu, from there it continues to Lake Dianshan and passes through the Chinese district of Huangpu, which bears its name, and empties into the East China Sea. It has an average width of 400 m and an average depth of 9 m. The city of Shanghai draws most of its drinking water from the Huangpu, making it essential for the city. The Huangpu divides Shanghai into two regions: Pudong to the east and Puxi to the west.

Another notable riverside city is Jiaxing.
