Hoshi no Koe
Hoshi no koe (ほしのこえ, '&# 39;Hoshi no koe''? Voices of a Star) is a Japanese animated OVA released in 2002. It lasts about twenty-five minutes.
Hoshi no koe was created by virtually one man: Makoto Shinkai. Shinkai wrote, drew, directed the story, and digitally animated it with the help of his computer over the course of nearly a year and two days. Even he and his girlfriend put the voices of the characters in the original version, although a second version was later made with professional dubbing actors. Composer Tenmon provided the music. Shinkai and Tenmon had worked together in an erotic video game studio called minori (sic), Tenmon also put music to Shinkai's previous short called Kanojo to kanojo no neko ( She and her cat , 1999). Later he would compose his most current Kumo no mukō yakusoku no basho (Beyond the clouds, the promised land, 2004).
Plot
In Hoshi no koe, Earth is at war with the Tarsals, a race of aliens. A high school girl, Mikako Nagamine, enlists in the United Nations Armed Forces to pilot a giant mecha (pronounce mecha). She soon has to leave Earth and her friend Noboru Terao. As the army follows the Tarsians in retreating from her, Mikako gets further and further away from Noboru, and therefore the text messages Mikako sends to Earth with her mobile phone take longer and longer to reach. her fate. In the end, the messages take eight years, but Noboru is still waiting for Mikako's return. The plot of Hoshi no koe focuses on the bond that exists between the two in their very long-distance relationship, rather than on the space battles that Mikako must fight.
