Holm oaks from above
Encinas de Arriba is a Spanish municipality and town in the province of Salamanca, in the autonomous community of Castilla y León. It is integrated into the region of Tierra de Alba. It belongs to the judicial district of Salamanca and to the Pantano de Sta. Teresa.
Its municipal area is made up of a single population center, it occupies a total area of 8.78 km² and according to the demographic data collected in the municipal register prepared by the INE in 2017, it has a population of 241 inhabitants.

History
Its foundation dates back to the repopulation carried out by the kings of León in the Middle Ages, then being called Ezinas and being integrated into the Allende el Río quarter of the jurisdiction of Alba de Tormes, within the Kingdom of León. With the creation of the current provinces in 1833, Encinas de Arriba was framed in the province of Salamanca, within the Leonese Region, forming part of the judicial district of Alba de Tormes until its disappearance and its integration into that of Salamanca.

Transportation
The municipality is well connected by road, being crossed by the SA-114 that allows communication in a southwesterly direction with Fresno Alhándiga and access to the national N-630, which connects Gijón with Seville and the Ruta de la Plata highway of Along the same route and in a northeasterly direction, it communicates with Alba de Tormes and Peñaranda de Bracamonte, where the access to the N-501 and the Culture highway that connect Salamanca with Ávila and Madrid is located. The fact that Éjeme stands out, located less than 2 km away from the historic center, but on the other bank of the river, is more than 15 km away by road.
As far as public transport is concerned, after the closure of the Vía de la Plata railway route, which passed through the municipality of Alba de Tormes and had a station there, there are no train services in the municipality nor in the neighbors, nor regular line with bus service. On the other hand, Salamanca Airport is the closest, being about 23km away.
