Hiroshima Prefecture
The Hiroshima Prefecture (広島県, Hiroshima-ken? ) is a prefecture in the Chūgoku region, on the island of Honshu, in Japan. It has an estimated population, at the beginning of September 2022, of 2,760,936 inhabitants.
The capital is the city of Hiroshima.
This capital is very important, as there are many areas of industry and commerce, such as the pharmaceutical industry, textile industry and automotive industry.

Demographics
In 2006, the city had an estimated population of 1,154,391 inhabitants, while the total population for the metropolitan area was estimated at 2,043,788 in the year 2000. The total area of the city is 905.08 km², with a density of 1,275.4 inhabitants per km².
The population around 1910 was 143,000, before World War II the population of Hiroshima had risen to 360,000, peaking at 419,182 in 1942. Following the atomic bombings in 1945 by part of the United States, the population dropped to 137,197. By 1955, the city's population had returned to pre-war levels [21].
Gastronomy
Hiroshima is known for Okonomiyaki, which consists of a pastry of grated yam, wheat, and egg to which a wide variety of ingredients are incorporated and is usually served and cooked on a griddle in front of the client's. Typical ingredients are egg, cabbage, bean sprouts, and slices of pork, garnished with okonomiyaki sauce, mayonnaise, and aonori. Other typical ingredients are calamari, octopus, cheese, mochi, kimchi and soba noodles, although they can vary depending on customer preference.
