Hernan Casciari
Hernán Casciari (Mercedes, March 16, 1971) is an Argentine writer, editor and content creator. He initially became known for his work bridging literature and the internet. He created the Editorial Orsai, the production company Orsai Audiovisuales and directs the magazine Orsai, of journalistic chronicle and literature. He has published more than a dozen books and is characterized by reading his stories aloud on radio, television and theaters.
Trajectory
When Hernán was 13 years old, he got his first job as a journalist, as a chronicler of basketball games for the newspaper "El Oeste".
In 1990 he founded and was editor-in-chief of the magazine "La Ventana" from Mercedes. In said magazine he admits to having done "lying journalism" and having used his neighbors in false stories with a playful purpose, this brought him legal problems and the magazine had to close two and a half years after its foundation. After this magazine, he founded the newspaper & # 34; El Domingo & # 34; but it lasted a short time and he also had to close it.
In the 1990s, he moved to Buenos Aires and worked in various media, especially in the economic field. Between 1998 and 1999 she dedicated herself mainly to sending stories to contests in Europe and the United States to be able to live off the earnings.
In the year 2000 he won an award and traveled to Paris to receive it, met a Catalan woman, Cristina, and moved with her to Barcelona. During his first years in Spain he created a clipping company and at the same time created a blog. Around the year 2001 she created "Weblog of a Fat Woman"; the personal diary of Mirta Bertotti, a fictional character by Casciari, who for the readers of the time was real. In 2005, it won the award for best blog from the German chain Deutsche Welle. This blog was published on paper with the title More respect, I am your mother (Plaza & Janés) in various editions in Spanish (Spain, Argentina and Mexico) and translated into French and Italian.
She began writing in 2004 "The Diary of Letizia Ortiz", recounting the first months of Letizia Ortizs life in the first person since the announcement of her engagement to the heir to the Crown of Spain. She later wrote the blog & # 34; Juan Damaso, seer & # 34;.
In 2005, he gave voice to the protagonist of the TV series 'Mi querido Klikowsky' on the Internet. At the end of September 2006, Editorial Sudamericana published the novel in Argentina and other Spanish-speaking countries "More respect than I am your mother" but with the name & # 34; Diary of a fat woman & # 34; .In September 2007 he published his second book, & # 39; Spain, you lost & # 39;, edited under the Plaza & amp; Janés. For the Latin American version of that book, Editorial Sudamericana published it under the name "España, decí arpiste".
Since the end of 2006, he developed the official blog project "Yo y mi garrote. Xavi L."'s blog, backed by the publication of false news in the online edition of the newspaper with which it was possible to give more credibility to the character, a mentally ill person who wrote a blog and published videos as part of a novel therapy. The authorship was divided between Casciari himself and the actor of the videos. The artistic objective was that the public could not identify the project as fictional, although it was discovered shortly before it was concluded.
In 2007 he started a new blog about television series in the digital edition of the newspaper El País. And in 2008 he began to collaborate weekly in the EP3 supplement of El País, and in the Argentine newspaper La Nación.
In 2008 Antonio Gasalla began working on the stage adaptation of "More respect, I am your mother". The work was released in 2009 and would be a success which enhanced the fame of Hernan Casciari and also, due to copyright, represented many economic benefits.
In 2010, he resigned from the newspapers where he worked, El País and La Nación, due to professional and creative differences. As a result of this he founded with his childhood friend, Christian & # 34; Chiri & # 34; Basilis, a quarterly magazine called Orsai. which would not contain advertising and would be distributed worldwide. Said magazine is sold at a price equivalent to fifteen of the Saturday newspapers of the newspaper with the largest circulation in the country where it is purchased. For the first issue, which appeared in January 2011, it sold 10,080 copies. The magazine's first season, which consisted of 16 issues, ended in 2013.
In addition to resigning from the newspapers he worked for, he also created the "Editorial Orsai" and through which the homonymous magazine was published. From this moment on, Editorial Orsai was the one used by Casciari to publish all of his books. He also republished with this publisher the books that he previously published with & # 34; Plaza & amp; Janes" and "South American".
In 2012 and until 2014 he had a microphone on the Vorterix radio station in Buenos Aires where he recounted his stories.
In 2014, through Orsai, he published the magazine Bonsái, with a bimonthly circulation. The idea of this project is that it can attract both children and adults.
In 2016 he joined the staff of the Perros de la Calle Metro 95.1 program hosted by Andy Kusnetzoff.
After suffering a heart attack in Montevideo, Uruguay, on December 6, 2015, doctors advised him not to travel for a while, so he settled again in Argentina the following year.
In 2016 and 2017 he presented the show "Una obra en construcción" in the City of Buenos Aires, along with the rest of her family. His brother-in-law El Negro Sánchez, his sister Florencia, his cousins the Carabajals and his nephews accompany him on stage every night, while his own mother Chichita embarrasses him live. Chichita, Hernán Casciari's mother, is a recurring figure in the stories, she plays herself in all the fragments where she has to challenge and insult the author.
In 2017 he joined, as a columnist, the radio program "Todo Pasa" of Océano FM (Uruguay). In the same year, it announced the return of the Orsai Magazine with a second season that had its first issue in June 2017. The magazine has been published regularly since then. That year he also began with the theater works "Tragedias" and "Comedies" with Zambayonny and Fabiana Cantilo respectively.
In 2018, he began to appear in bars to read his stories in a series called "Leyendo en barres" where in each presentation she read a story from each of her books. Also during 2018 she began the work "nostalgias" with the tango singer Cucuza Castiello.
In January he started a bus on Telefe called "Cuentos de medianoche" which was broadcast from Monday to Friday, in which Casciari read a story he wrote. In the same month he began with the cycle & # 34; Casciari a la carte & # 34; and read the stories chosen by those attending the event.
In December 2020, it announced the acquisition of the rights for the production of the film adaptation of the novel "La Uruguaya" by Pedro Mairal by Orsai Audiovisuales, produced by members of the Orsai Community under the collective financing format.
In 2021, at the beginning of the filming of "La Uruguaya", new audiovisual projects became known: the miniseries "Canelones", based on a story by Casciari; the film "More respect than I am your mother" and the series "The best heart attack of my life", both books by the same author.
