Heredeiros da Crus
Heredeiros da Crus is a Galician rock group founded in 1992 in the Coruña municipality of Ribeira. They are characterized by the use of gheada and lisp, sometimes reaching the castrapo, and by their music to the rhythm of seventies rock. Her provocative lyrics and performances have been the subject of constant controversy, especially with feminist and clergy groups.
History
Beginnings and first album (1992-1994)
Heredeiros da Crus emerged in Castiñeiras, a parish in the municipality of Ribeira, in 1992 at the initiative of Tonhito de Poi. It was made up of 5 kids: Tuchiño (guitar and voice), Tonhito de Poi (rhythm guitar and choirs), Javi Maneiro (voice), Avelino Ares (drums) and Juan (bass). They rehearsed in a chicken coop and that same year they gave their first open-air concert at the Festa da Dorna, after deceiving the festival committee by telling them they were a folk group. A short time later the bassist, who rarely showed up to rehearse, was replaced by Francisco Velo. Subsequently, the drummer position would undergo numerous changes, Avelino would leave and make way for Medín, the drummer who was in the band the longest. Drummers Marcos Otero, Pedro Rodríguez-Trelles and Manu Rey would also pass by later.
In 1994 they managed to record their first album, A Cuadrilla De Pepa A Loba, and gave a historic concert in Castrelos in front of more than 20,000 people.
Consolidation and success (1995-2004)
With a new manager they recorded the album ¡Está que te cajas!! in 1995. In the first song of this album, "Frenaso no calsonsillo", they got the collaboration of Rosendo Mercado. The record producer would be Segundo Grandío, bassist of Siniestro Total.
Also in that year they collaborated with two songs for the Xabarín Club of TVG that were included in album 1-2 of A cantar con Xabarín, "O porquiño" and "Que jallo é!", of which the latter made a video clip that gave the group great fame and became an indispensable part of their concerts.
Their next album was Criatura, a maxi-single of only 4 songs, and not long after they released their next album Des Minutos.
In 1999 they recorded another work, Ereciones Munisipales, where all the lyrics revolve around the fictional story of mayoral candidate Virgilio Mendes. In 2000 they recorded a live double with All Right Chicago, a double CD with the best hits of the groups recorded at the Festa da Dorna, once again produced by Segundo Grandío. In 2001 Recambios Tucho appeared, an unedited CD with versions of outstanding songs from musical history, not authorized by their authors.
For 12 years, the Heredeiros obtained great fame in Galicia, performing throughout the Galician territory and even abroad, in places like Madrid, New York, London, Barcelona or Lisbon.
Separation (2005-2012)
In 2005 there was a halt in the gang's activity. In that year Tonhito left the group to embark on a new musical project, A Banda de Poi, together with other Galician and Portuguese musicians. After numerous problems the band dissolved and Tonhito created another group, Tonhito de Poi e Rasa Loba.
On the other hand, Javi Maneiro also formed another group, Jabón Blue, in which he began to sing in Spanish and with which he recorded 4 albums until their separation.
Tuchiño also began a career outside of the Heredeiros, collaborating first with Jabón Blue, replacing one of its members for a while, and then forming his own band, Recambios Tucho, which receives the same name as that album of versions of the band's own Heirs.
Finally, Fran Velo worked as a scriptwriter on various issues for TVG while continuing in the world of music with the cover band Mustang and later as bassist for The Lákazans.
Return and new album (2013-2018)
In early 2012 they announced their return through a series of videos titled Volven os máis jrandes, in which famous Galician characters such as Touriñán, Ricardo de Barreiro or Antonio Durán " Morris" they spoke of the return of the "greatest ones", without ever saying the name of the group. Shortly after they announced a concert in Órdenes for March 3, 2012 at the LP45 nightclub, where tickets to 48 hours and the concert was a great success, so what was going to be a reunion concert ended up becoming a definitive tour and return of the band.
In 2013 they released a new studio album, Jard Rock Con Fe and in the following years they would continue touring throughout Galicia and beyond.
Melted and new tour (2019-present)
On October 11, 2019 and after 6 years since the last one, they release a new album, Melted, the band's tenth album. They also announced a new tour called "Europrea", in which they would perform in places like Santiago de Compostela, Madrid, Geneva or London, among others.
