His Majesty of the South Seas (His Majesty O'Keefe) is a film American adventure premiered in 1954 and directed by Byron Haskin. Based on the life of David O'Keefe.

Plot

Burt Lancaster stars as Captain O'Keefe, an American adventurer and captain who seeks his fortune in the China seas and Pacific islands. The film begins with the captain suffering a mutiny and miraculously saving his head. O'Keefe arrives in China ruined and without a ship, about to fall into begging, he gets a Chinese merchant to entrust him with a ship, and with him and with the friendship of an old commercial agent from the colonies, he manages to monopolize the copra trade in the Caroline Islands, and taking advantage of the stone cult of the natives, he will achieve such ascendancy among them that they will recognize him as king.
