Henares Basin
The Henares Basin is the hydrographic basin of the Henares River, which extends through part of the Community of Madrid and the province of Guadalajara, in Spain. It is part of the Tagus hydrographic basin. In the area defined by this basin are municipalities such as Alcalá de Henares, Nuevo Baztán, Santorcaz and Loeches. Some organizations have defined this basin as a region of a tourist nature, with most of its municipalities.
Flora and fauna
In this historic area, planted with orchards and cereals, we can see various waterfowl, white storks, bustards and kestrels, as well as partridges and quails.
The Riberas del Henares and Jarama and the Cañada Real Galiana are places of natural interest. The flora is mainly made up of poplars, poplars and willows, typical riverside vegetation.
