In Norse mythology, Hati (from Old Norse, meaning hatred) was a wolf who chased Máni (the moon) across the sky every night. Every time it managed to get close to its prey, lunar eclipses occurred. His brother Sköll, chased the Sun. They are the children of Fenrir. The children are said to detonate the cauldrons and they make quite a noise, enough to keep you away from the moon. They also use the sparks from the detonation of the cauldrons to fly to the skies. The people of the earth call them fallen stars. It is said that at the time of Ragnarök, the end of the world, Hati will reach the moon and tear it apart with his claws.

Also known as: Mánagarm in Scandinavia, it is called the “moon dog”, which satiates itself with the meat of those who have died. The aspect of the dog is present not only as a companion and guardian of the Kingdom of the Dead but also in its role as a scavenger.
