Haruka Ten'ō

Haruka Ten'ō  (天王 はるか< span class="t_nihongo_comma" style="display:none">, Ten'ō Haruka^?, sometimes known as "Timmy"), alias Sailor Uranus (セーラーウラヌス, Sērā Uranusu^?), is a fictional character from the series anime and manga Sailor Moon. This character is introduced for the first time in the third story arc of the original manga (known by the name Infinito), as well as in the Sailor Moon S season of the animated version from the 1990s and in season 3 of Sailor Moon Crystal. Within the group of Sailor Senshi of the Solar System, Sailor Uranus belongs to the team of the Sailor Senshi of the External Solar System; who have been in charge of protecting the Kingdom of the Moon and Silver Millennium since ancient times.

Both names by which she is known, Haruka Ten'ō and Sailor Uranus, have been modified in numerous translations that were made into English and Spanish. Haruka Ten'ō's original Japanese name, for example, was translated into English as Amara Tenoh and in some versions into Spanish as Timmy Teio; while the name Sailor Uranus was sometimes translated as Sailor Uranus or Warrior Uranus.

Haruka Ten'ō is the reincarnation of Sailor Uranus, a Sailor Senshi type warrior who came from the planet Uranus and protected a kingdom called the Silver Millennium in her past life. When Haruka regains her memory of that previous life, she regains the supernatural powers she had as Sailor Uranus. From then on she once again adopts the identity and appearance of Sailor Uranus every time she must fight evil alongside Sailor Neptune, and later, also alongside Sailor Moon and her friends.

Haruka Ten'ō is a young woman who can transform into Sailor Uranus, a warrior whose powers have great affinities with the elements of air and the sky. Naoko Takeuchi, her creator, has described Sailor Uranus as the 'ō #34;Warrior of the Sky" who can manipulate wind and light The protagonist of the series, Usagi Tsukino, knows this character first as Haruka Ten'ō and then in her alternate identity as Sailor Uranus; her without finding out that Haruka and Sailor Uranus are the same person until much later.

When introduced into the story, Haruka is a tenth grade student, the first year of high school according to the Japanese education system. She is a schoolmate of Michiru Kaiō, with whom she has a very intimate relationship.

She wears her hair very short, owns a sports car, and likes to wear pants, shirts, and jackets; which sometimes gives it an almost masculine appearance. For this reason, some people get confused and believe that she is a boy. Usagi and her friends even initially feel attracted to her, and only realize her mistake some time later. For her part, the author of the series, Naoko Takeuchi, has explicitly expressed that "Haruka has always been a woman." "She always will be." In some preliminary notes, she described Haruka as a somewhat presumptuous, easy-going, light and fun young woman; that before becoming a Sailor Senshi she used to be a little ignorant about the reality of the world. The personality of this character, plus her way of being drawn, have made her an icon of gender-bending fiction and yuri-style manga. The latter is due, among other things, to the fact that in some chapters she flirts with Usagi, creating friction with her boyfriend, Mamoru Chiba. In the manga he even kisses her twice. His romantic relationship with his classmate Michiru, that is, Sailor Neptune, was confirmed with the passing of the chapters and by the subsequent statements of the author Naoko Takeuchi. His surname is sometimes incorrectly spelled as Tennō, which coincidentally is a more common Japanese spelling of the name of the planet Uranus, but in the manga it is invariably written as Ten'; ō, through furigana. Haruka's name is written in hiragana as "Haruka" (はるか, haruka^? ), therefore its meaning is not inherent; but the word itself means 'distant'. The name she was given in the English translation of the anime, 'Amara', is derived from the Greek word αμαραντος, amaranths, meaning 'eternal'. 3. 4; or "imperishable". Biography

The character of Haruka Ten'ō appears in the series from the third season onwards, when she meets Usagi (Sailor Moon) and her friends for the first time at the Crown video game arcade.. This place, the same one where Motoki Furuhata works, is where Haruka likes to play racing video games.

In the 90s anime adaptation (Sailor Moon S), Haruka challenges Usagi's partner, Minako Aino, to compete in a race in a video game and defeats her very easily. In the equivalent version of the manga and in Sailor Moon Crystal, however, Haruka and Usagi meet when The latter is preparing to try the video game and, while she is playing it, she hears an unknown voice that tells her not to be afraid of the speed and that encourages her to try to win. Listening to her advice, Usagi manages to accelerate her speed in an unexpected way that surprises her friends. Once she finishes the game, looking around she sees that the owner of the voice (who gave her advice) is Haruka.

Only in the anime of the 90s is it said that Haruka manages to remember her past and become a vigilante thanks to the help of Michiru, that is, Sailor Neptune. However, according to all versions, at the time when Usagi and the others meet them for the first time, Haruka and Michiru are already secretly dedicated to fighting evil; using the identities inherited from her previous existences as Sailor Senshi. They both initially attend Mugen School, sometimes known as Infinito School, where Hotaru Tomoe also studies. Under the identity of Sailor Uranus, she combats a group of malevolent female allies of the Death Busters, the Witches 5, with the help of Sailor Neptune. In the manga, Sailor Uranus even appears, initially and briefly, wearing a costume similar to Tuxedo Mask's before adopting her own again as a warrior; which causes for a period even more confusion regarding their sex. Finally, however, it is revealed that both Uranus and Neptune possess two of the three talismans whose power Sailor Moon needs to defeat enemies. While Sailor Uranus' talisman is the 'Sword of Space', the other two talismans are the 'Mirror of Waterdeep'. of Sailor Neptune and the "Red Garnet Stone" on Sailor Pluto's staff. When gathered together, they can summon the Holy Grail or Moon Cup, an item that grants Sailor Moon new powers to defeat the Death Busters and Witches 5. Hotaru dies while she helps them defeat the aliens, after which she soon returns as a newborn baby whom Sailor Uranus, with the help of Sailor Pluto and Sailor Neptune, takes under her care. From then on, Hotaru becomes the adopted daughter of the three of them in their civilian identities of Haruka Ten'ō, Michiru Kaiō and Setsuna Meiō, and grows again and assumes the identity of Sailor Saturn to fight at their side every time. time they face a new enemy.

Sailor Uranus

Sailor Uranus describes herself as the Warrior of Flight, who carries the protection of the planet of Heaven. It is Haruka's identity as a Sailor Senshi warrior. Like the rest of the team's vigilantes, she wears a uniform similar to a sailor fuku and fights evil through a mystical faculty connected to a specific planet or star. Sailor Uranus's uniform stands out for having a sailor collar., the blue skirt and boots, in addition to her yellow bows. Sailor Uranus comes from the planet Uranus and is one of the eight warriors who follow Sailor Moon, the protagonist. She is also, along with Sailor Pluto, Neptune and Saturn, one of the four warriors of the Outer Solar System, who have protected the kingdom of the Silver Millennium from threats from outer space since ancient times.

As she gets stronger as the series progresses, Sailor Uranus gains additional powers. At certain key moments, her uniform changes to reflect this, taking on an appearance similar to Sailor Moon's uniform. The first time she and the others receive new powers, it takes on an appearance similar to Super Sailor Moon, and the second time, only in the manga, one similar to EternalSailor Moon.

In the Silver Millennium

Haruka is, like the rest of the protagonists, the reincarnation of one of the eight warriors who lived to protect this kingdom in their past life. In those times, each planet in the Solar System had a Sailor Senshi warrior who protected it, and all these warriors joined together to protect the entire Solar System. In turn, the warriors were subordinated to the authority of the royal dynasty of the Silver Millennium, that is, the royal family of the Moon, who were the most devoted and powerful guardians of the entire System.

According to the Sailor Moon S anime, in her previous life as Sailor Uranus, Haruka lived in the Silver Millennium with her companions, the other warriors. Once this kingdom was destroyed, were all reborn on 20th century Earth along with Serenity, the princess of the Silver Millennium, and her court. In the manga and in Sailor Moon Crystal, however, Sailor Uranus, Neptune, Pluto and Saturn (the four guardians of the External Solar System) did not live in the Silver Millennium, but rather protected it, thus as well as the rest of the planets in the System, from a distance. While Sailor Pluto was guarding the Gate of Time and Sailor Saturn was in perpetual sleep until her presence was required, Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune were guarding the borders of the Solar System from their respective planets, Uranus and Neptune. They ensured that no invaders entered from outside to attack the rest of the planets, including Earth, or to attack the kingdom of the Silver Millennium that was on the Moon.

It is also said in the manga that Sailor Uranus and Neptune, like Sailor Pluto, were obliged to always remain vigilant on their planets or designated places. Although they were always far away, watching over those places, the Silver Millennium was the place they considered their true home and country. Since they could not abandon their posts, these three could never meet on the same planet, nor could they meet. Nor did he meet Princess Serenity (daughter of Queen Serenity) and the other four warriors, who lived in the lunar kingdom. But when the entity known as Metalia caused a great war between the Earth and the Moon, each of the talismans that they possessed began to resonate. In the story of Sailor Moon

However, the souls of Sailor Uranus, Neptune and Saturn, and later also Sailor Pluto, were sent to reincarnate in the future, on 20th century Earth. Once reincarnated as a normal person with the name Haruka Tenō, the reborn Sailor Uranus meets Michiru Kaiō who is the reincarnation of Sailor Neptune, and together they regain the memory and powers of their previous life as Sailor Senshi. In the manga, like the other warriors, Sailor Uranus is represented as a princess of her home planet since the times of the ancient Silver Millennium. As a princess, she owns a royal palace on the planet Uranus, called castle 'Miranda', and she is called Princess Uranus or Princess Uranus.
