Hardap is a region of Namibia. According to the 2011 census, it has a population of 79,507.

The Hardap Dam is located here.

The region stretches across the width of Namibia, from the Atlantic Ocean in the west to the Namibian national border in the east. In the northeast, it borders the Kgalagadi District of Botswana, and in the southeast it borders the Northern Cape Province of South Africa. In the country, it borders the following regions:

  • Erongo - northwest
  • Khomas - Central North
  • Omaheke - northeast
  • Karas - south


The region is commonly known as the agricultural center of the area. However, recently farmers have been greatly affected due to the pandemic caused by COVID-19. The Government has implemented support programs to try to alleviate the situation.

The region comprises eight electoral districts:

  • Daweb
  • Rehoboth Rural
  • Rehoboth Urban West
  • Rehoboth Urban East
  • Gibeon
  • Mariental Urbano
  • Mariental Rural
  • Aranos
