Hannes steinert
Hannes Steinert is a German painter and sculptor born in 1954 in Stuttgart. His stage as a free painter began in 1986.
Training
Between 1977 and 1980 he studied at the Freien Kunstschule in Nürtingen. He furthered his studies at the Staatlichen Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Stuttgart between 1981 and 1986. In 1989 he received a scholarship from the Kulturstiftung of Baden-Württemberg and in the period 1999-2000 he received another scholarship from the State of Schleswig-Holstein at the Künstlerhaus from Lauenburg-Elbe.
Work
Since the beginning of his work as an artist, Steinert has been an observer and commentator of the LGBT movement in Germany. From the beginning to the present (2008) he has made male erotica one of his main themes. As an openly gay artist, he has always understood his paintings and his work as part of the gay emancipation movement.
Since 1982 his works have been part of numerous exhibitions, both collective and individual, both in Germany and abroad. In addition, she has made illustrations for books and has edited catalogs and books.
