GNU TeXmacs is a WYSIWYG-WYSIWYM scientific document editor. It facilitates the structuring of the document and allows the inclusion of high-quality mathematical formulas.

The formula:

− − b± ± b2− − 4ac2a{displaystyle {frac {-bpm {sqrt {b^{2}-4ac}}{2a}}}{2a}}}}

It can be written just as easily as LaTeX, and can also be viewed as you type.

Advantages over LaTeX

The main advantage over LaTeX is the ease of use typical of WYSIWYG to see what you are typing, as well as a wide set of command shortcuts that lighten the burden of writing formulas, as well as the possibility of using the most part of the LaTeX commands (in this aspect the Linux version is much superior to the Windows version).
