The name Gnobian refers to different GNU/Linux distributions based on Gnome as the desktop environment and Debian Linux as the operating system, usually in its latest versions.

Distributions

There are different Gnobian distributions:

  • GnuLinEx.
  • Guadalinex.
  • Gnome2-live Distribution (LiveCD) created to demonstrate the possibilities Metadistros (breakable link available on the Internet Archive; see history, first version and last). and Gnome. (Sponsored by the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Hispalinux)
  • gnUAMix (sponsored by the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid) and Guadalinex (sponsored by the Junta de Andalucía), two CDVivos distributions in Spanish, that is, they can be executed without having to install them on the hard drive. Optionally you can install on the hard drive
  • Gnoppix, another international LiveCD.
  • Lliurex, a distribution of the Valencian Generality.
  • Ubuntu, distribution of Canonical Ltd.
