Germán Lorente Guarch (Vinaroz, November 25, 1932-Madrid, August 26, 2019) was a Spanish film director, screenwriter and novelist.

Biography

Graduate in Law. Lorente began as a screenwriter in 1957 and wrote, among others, the Juan Bosch film, A Sangre Cold (1959).

He debuted as a director in 1964 with Where you are with Claudia Mori. He made his breakthrough in 1966 with the beloved drama His Name is Daphne with Geneviève Grad and Michel Subor. Hollywood star, actor George Chakiris plays the lead role in Sahron in Red (1969).

He won an international award in 1973 for his thriller The Girl from Via Condotti: Frederick Stafford, Claude Jade and Alberto de Mendoza. After some thrillers, she returned with Striptease (1976, with Terence Stamp). After Three women of today (1980) with Ana Obregón, Lorente filmed her last film with The underwear seller.
