Gerard Blaize is a French teacher of Aikidō, Jōdō, and Bōjutsu.

Biography

He was born in Toulouse (France) on August 17, 1946 and his first contact with martial arts was through Pierre Brousse, his first Judo and Aikidō teacher.

He lived for five and a half years in Japan, practicing mainly at the Aikikai in Tokyo, where his teachers were 2nd Doshu Kishomaru Ueshiba and Seigo Yamaguchi. In 1975 he met Hikitsuchi Michio, following his teaching ever since, both in Aikidō and bōjutsu. During these years he also studied jōdō under Shigenobu Matsumura. On April 26, 1995, at the request of his teacher Hikitsuchi Michio, Doshu Kishomaru Ueshiba awarded him the 7th Dan of Aikido. He lives and teaches in Paris (France), and travels teaching courses in Europe and America, where there are many students who follow his teachings. He went to the Balearic Islands for the first time in 1989 and since then he has given courses periodically in Palma, Calviá, Santa Eulalia del Río and San Antonio Abad.

He has also visited Barcelona to take jōdō exams.
