Georges Lagrange
Georges Lagrange, writer in Esperanto, was born in 1928 and died on April 30, 2004 in the village of Bouresse, in the “Kvinpetalo” center, located near Poitiers. He had been a co-founder of this great center for the teaching and dissemination of the Esperanto language, known in France and in the world Esperanto movement.
Lagrange studied Esperanto in his youth, after World War II, which led him to dedicate himself to teaching and spreading Esperanto as well.
In this language he wrote some twenty original works, novels and plays, in addition to publishing numerous translations of French authors, ancient and modern.
He also translated the songs of Georges Brassens and other modern composers into Esperanto and wrote the dialogues for the film “La verd’stelulo”, released in 1996, one of the films originally recorded in the Esperanto International Language.
The recognized perfect command of Esperanto achieved by Georges Lagrange led to his being chosen to be part of the International Esperanto Academy.
