Galactic astronomy

Contenido Galactic astronomy is the name given to the astronomical investigation of our galaxy, the Milky Way.
The difference between galactic and extragalactic astronomy only began to be made at the beginning of the last century, when Edwin Hubble's observations showed beyond any doubt that the Andromeda Nebula was a galaxy similar to our own, and at a considerable distance her.
There are many objects of interest in our galaxy, including stars, interstellar clouds —which is where star formation takes place—, our galactic center —which we are almost certain has a black hole—, etc.
