The team spent a long time in the First Division of English football at that time around the sixties. They came close when they reached the FA Cup final in 1975, but were defeated by West Ham United. The only important trophy in the team's history is having won qualification for the UEFA Cup by winning the UEFA Intertoto Cup, beating Bologna 3-0 in the final.
Did you mean:"The great escape "
Fulham finished in 17th place in the 2007/08 season, miraculously avoiding relegation. Among cottager fans, this event is known as 'The great escape', since with 3 days remaining, saving oneself seemed like a dream. The team was 5 points away from safety. On matchday 36 Fulham faced Manchester City F.C. in Manchester, and at half-time they lost 2-0. At that time, and thanks to the momentary results of its rivals in the fight for permanence, the club was in the second division. But coach Roy Hogdson brought Diomansy Kamara onto the field, who scored the first goal. Later Danny Murphy tied the score after a missed penalty, and in the 91st minute Kamara again finished the miracle. As Fulham's rivals finally tied, after beating City 3-2, they were 3 points away from safety. On matchday 37 they received Birmingham City at Craven Cottage, a team that at that time was in 18th place in the standings. Fulham were once again forced to win to get out of 19th place. Their great captain and scorer Brian McBride scored with a header to make it 1-0. Erik Nevland scored the final 2-0. Furthermore, Reading lost 1-0 at home against a Tottenham team that had nothing to play for. Because of this, Fulham overtook Birmingham and Reading, leaving them in 17th place, tied on 33 points with Reading, but with a better goal difference. And on the last day it was time to visit Portsmouth. Birmingham won their match 4-1, Reading did the same with relegated Derby County, 0-4. Thus Fulham would be relegated, but a header by Danny Murphy from the center from Jimmy Bullard's wing in the 76th minute gave Fulham the victory and with it their permanence in the Premier League for the 2007/08 season.

But what was notable was the constant change of coaches during the season due to poor results, from 2016 to November 2018 there was Slaviša Jokanović, then Claudio Ranieri who was fired after 16 games and until the end of the season he is currently in charge. Scott Parker. Ultimately, Fulham finished nineteenth in the table, being relegated along with Huddersfield Town and newly promoted Cardiff City.
2019-20 season
After a resounding failure in the Premier League, with a constant change of coaches and a waste of 100 million pounds on signings. Most of their most expensive signings left for other teams and some stayed. Fulham's season in the second division was good, the objective was to fight for promotion and they finally achieved it, finishing fourth in the table. In the first leg they won 2-0 against Cardiff City with goals from Joshua Onomah in the 49th minute and Neenkens Kebano in the 93rd minute. Then in the second leg they lost 1-2 at home, Fulham's only goal was from Onomah, but the result was enough to qualify for the final of the playoffs.
