The national flag of Oman consists of three horizontal bands: white, red and green from top to bottom; and another vertical to the pole, red, and with the country's coat of arms on top of it.

The color white represents peace and prosperity; green to fertility and the Green Mountains, and red to battles against foreign invaders. Red is also the color of the old national flag, from when the country was known as the "Sultanate of Muscat".
