Flag of bangladesh
The flag of Bangladesh was officially adopted on January 17, 1972. It was originally used during the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War, consisting of a green field and a red circle on the which was located a map of the country in gold color. When it was officially adopted, the map disappeared as a way of simplifying the design and currently consists of the green field that represents the abundance of the country's land and a red circle slightly offset from the middle to the left in such a way that when waving the flag appears centered, and it represents the sun over Bengal and the blood of the heroes of independence.
Origin
The original flag was designed by painter Quamrul Hassan. On March 3, 1971, it was hoisted for the first time at the University of Dhaka. Then, on March 23 of that same year, the flag flew again during the declaration of independence of that country, on March 25, 1971, at the residence of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The flag was specially designed to represent Islam without having to use the traditional symbols (crescent moon and star), which were also the symbols of Pakistan.
