Fields closed

Closed fields in Galicia, Spain.

In the system of enclosures (bocage, in French, enclosures, in English) there are divisions between the plots, and they are associated to individual decisions about crops and uses.

It is often said that the model of closed fields is the dominant one in mountainous and more humid areas and that of open fields in rainfed areas (for example, Andalusia and Castilla-La Mancha). In any case, they are models or ideal types, more complex in reality.
