Fiat Albea
The Fiat Albea is a 'World Car' Fiat's Project 178 built in Turkey and Russia, and is intended for developing countries in Eastern Europe. It has been produced since 2002.
The Fiat Albea is very similar to the Fiat Siena manufactured in Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela, Poland, Morocco, India, South Africa, Egypt and China. The design of the car (Albea and Siena) was signed by the Italian Giorgetto Giugiaro. The Albea (dimensions 4186/1703/1490mm) however, is larger than the Siena (dimensions 4100/1626/1445mm).
In some markets, the car is sold with only one type of engine. In Turkey it is offered with two engines (Fire 1.4 8v and Multijet 1.3 16v) and one equipment variant (Albea Sole), while in Romania, Fiat has decided that the best strategy to compete with the Dacia Logan is to offer only the engine 1.2 16V (1242cmc, 80HP/5000rpm, 114Nm/4000rpm)
The Albea began being manufactured in Russia in 2007 by Severstal-Auto at the ZNA plant in Naberezhnye Chelny, Tatarstan.
