Fergana Province

Fergana is one of the twelve provinces that, together with the autonomous republic Karakalpakia and the capital city Tashkent, make up the Republic of Uzbekistan. Its capital is the homonymous Fergana. It is located in the east of the country, bordering Namangan and Andillán to the north, Kyrgyzstan to the south, and Tajikistan to the west. With 6,800 km², it is the fourth least extensive province—ahead of Corasmia, Sirdarín and Andillán, the least extensive—, with 2,600,000 inhabitants. In 2010 it is the second most populated entity—behind Tashkent (city)—and with 382 inhabitants/km², the third most densely populated, behind Tashkent (city) and Andillan.

Within the province is the district of Sokh.
