Eva Marie Saint (Newark, New Jersey, July 4, 1924) is an American actress, star of some classic Hollywood movies such as The Law of Silence (1954), With death on our heels (1959) or Exodus (1960). She is one of the last surviving actresses from the Golden Age of Hollywood.

Biography

Saint studied acting at Bowling Green University, graduating in 1946. After finishing his studies, he worked for some time on radio and television, until in 1953 he appeared in the play The Trip to Bountiful, for which he won the Theater Critics Award.

A year later, she landed her first film role, in the film The Law of Silence with Marlon Brando, for which she won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress. Over the next few years, she made most of the films that made her a very popular actress, including Cross Death, with Cary Grant, where she starred against all odds, and Exodus. , with Paul Newman. She also had a starring role in the movie Night of the Giants (1969) alongside Gregory Peck.

In the 1970s, since he did not receive interesting offers for the cinema, Saint returned to television, a medium in which he acted in numerous films and miniseries. In 1990 she won an Emmy Award for a Television Miniseries. She also returned to acting in the theater. Even today she continues to act in the cinema, although in a more reduced way. Her last movie was in 2019.

Saint was married to Jeffrey Hayden from 1951 until his death in 2016. They have two children and three grandchildren. The children are named Luarett Hayden and Darell Hayden. She also has an older sister, named Adelaide Louise Saint.
