Eritrean flag

Presidential flag.

The national flag of Eritrea was adopted on December 5, 1995. It is based on the flag flown by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Eritrea in its struggle for independence. The green color symbolizes the agricultural and livestock economy of Eritrea, the red signifies the blood spilled during the struggle for Eritrean independence, the blue color represents the marine wealth, the yellow color represents the mineral wealth of Eritrea, the olive wreath and The branch on the flag comes from the first Eritrean national flag that was used between 1952 and 1961, the olive wreath was adopted from the United Nations flag and symbolizes peace.
