Era (musical project)

Era—acronym for Eminential Rhythm of the Ancestors, stylized as +eRa+— is a musical project by French composer Eric Lévi, which mixes Gregorian chants with modern rhythms such as rock, pop and dance, classified within New Age music.

Style

It was a mix of Gregorian chants and occasionally world music with contemporary electronic and pop-rock arrangements. It is reminiscent of new age musical projects like Enigma, Gregorian and Deep Forest. The lyrics are written in an imaginary language based on Latin (sounding very similar) and sometimes English, and some are based on the beliefs of the Cathars.

The lyrics of some songs include verses written in an imaginary language inspired by Latin, but without meaning.
