Breast cancer is rare in men. More than 99% of cases occur in women. The distribution according to the different age bands speaks of an increase according to the age of the patients, that is, it is more frequent the older the patients are. This fact is fulfilled while the age of the women does not reach seventy years, beginning to decrease its frequency from that moment.

In general, the prognosis of breast cancer is inversely related to the age of the patients.
