Electronic brake distribution

The electronic brake distribution system (commercially called EBV or EBD depending on the different manufacturers) determines how much force to apply to each wheel to stop the vehicle in a minimum distance and without losing control.

The system calculates if the distribution is adequate from the same sensors as the ABS. Both systems together work better than ABS alone, since the latter regulates the braking force of each wheel depending on whether it is locking, while the electronic distribution distributes the braking force between the axles, helping the brake to one wheel is not overloaded (continuously locking and unlocking) and the other is underused.

On motorcycles

In motorcycles, although the distribution can be adjusted manually, there are systems called integral or combined braking that apply the braking in the ideal proportion to obtain maximum braking.
