History
Beginnings
Dominica would have played its first international match in 1932, against the Martinique team, a match that ended with a 1:0 victory. In the '40s it participated in the Coupe des Caraibes 1948, regional tournament predecessor of the current Caribbean Cup, where they lost twice to Martinique: 5:0 in Fort de France and 0:6 in Basseterre, on December 16, 1948.
In the decades of the '60s and '70s it competed in several editions of the Windward Islands Tournament (Tournament of the Windward Islands) where it faced its neighbors of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Grenada and Saint Lucia. In the '80s he regularly participated in the qualification rounds of the CFU Championship, although without being able to access the final phase.
1990s

After the creation of the Caribbean Cup, in 1989, Dominica was only able to qualify for the group stage in the 1994 edition. They were unable to overcome the first phase, after losing to the local team Trinidad and Tobago by 5: 0 and Guadalupe by 0:4. They could only draw 1:1 with Barbados, on April 10, 1994. Four years later, they returned to the regional tournament in 1998, being eliminated again in the first round, this time with three defeats against Martinique (1:5), Antigua and Barbuda (1:2) and Trinidad and Tobago (8:0). Dominica has not managed to return to the final phase of the Caribbean Cup since that edition.

For the qualifiers for Germany 2006, after defeating the Bahamas with an aggregate result of 4:2, the Dominicans faced the Mexican team that crushed them 10:0 in San Antonio, Texas, on June 19, 2004, becoming the worst defeat in their history. Eight days later, they lost again in Aguascalientes by 8:0, saying goodbye with a terrible accumulated result of 18:0 against. The decade would end with an elimination at the hands of Barbados, as happened in 1996, this time in the framework of the qualifiers for South Africa 2010 (1:1 in Roseau and 0:1 in Bridgetown).
