District of Nuevo Chimbote

The district of Nuevo Chimbote is one of the nine that make up the province of Santa, located in the department of Áncash in Peru.

Geography

It limits to the north with the district of Chimbote and to the south with those of Nepeña and Samanco. To the west of it is the Pacific Ocean, into which the Ferrol Peninsula enters, which it encloses along with the islands Blanca and Ferrol, the bay of Chimbote. The climate is subtropical desert with almost no rainfall. The temperature ranges from 28 °C in summer to 13 °C in winter.

It corresponds to the southern half of the city of Chimbote, with the residential areas and the beaches of the city. It is the most recent growth area of the city, with various developments and includes the airport and the university campus with ten professional careers.

This district is characterized by having the largest Plaza Mayor in Peru, with a monument designed by Enrique Olivera Arroyo, which represents a ·Heron· meaning the migratory bird found in the ecological district. The district of Nuevo Chimbote is zoned in urbanizations such as Buenos Aires, Los Héroes, José Carlos Mariátegui, Cipreses, Pacífico, Las Casuarinas, Las Brisas, Bruces, Cáceres Aramayo, Banchero Rossi, Santa Cristina, Santa Rosa, El Bosque, Las Gardenias, San Rafael, Los Portales, Bellamar, Nicolás Garatea, etc. The busiest avenues are Pacífico, Argentina, Anchoveta, Brasil, Country.

This district has a modern private cemetery called Lomas de la Paz, similar to the large cemeteries that exist in the city of Lima. Large supermarkets such as Plaza Vea and Metro are present in Nuevo Chimbote, as well as a modern Real Plaza, due to the great urban and population growth.

History

The district was created on May 27, 1994 by Law No. 26318 issued in the government of President Alberto Fujimori.

Population

The District of Nuevo Chimbote currently has more than 200,500 inhabitants, the growth it has experienced is due to numerous factors, but without a doubt, one of them is economic growth, which makes it a city with a future even more promising.
