Digivolution
Evolution (進化, Shinka ?, Digivolve (Digital Evolve) in the US version or Digivolve in the translated versions) is a term used in the Digimon franchise, to explain the growth and maturation process of Digimon, fictional creatures that live in a virtual plane known as the Digiworld. Although this process is called "evolution", it is actually more like a metamorphosis, as the Digimon mutates into a new creature very quickly.
Concept
As Digimon are essentially information, they can download information from the network to their Digicore (for example, by absorbing it from other Digimon), becoming stronger in the process. When they have downloaded or absorbed enough information, the Digicore undergoes a violent overwrite, causing the Digimon to "evolve", transforming into a new creature., generally larger and more powerful than the previous one. When a Digimon evolves, even though its outer form changes, its consciousness, personality, and feelings do not (there are exceptions, generally among dark evolutions).
Stages of Digivolution
Also called evolution levels, each stage represents a phase in a Digimon's maturity. There are 6 stages of natural evolution, 1 of special evolution and two more stages of artificial evolution, namely:

These are the stages that a Digimon can evolve to naturally, over time. From the first stage (Baby) to the Champion stage, they are all part of the maturity of a Digimon; however, going beyond the champion stage (Ultra and Mega bodies) is extremely difficult for a Digimon, and many meet their death at Champion level (either by old age or by being killed in battle). Only those who have survived extreme battles are the ones who gain the strength to evolve further. Any evolution that exceeds the Mega Body, such as the Super Mega or the Burst Mode, is reserved only for the most powerful Digimon, Digimon whose mere presence is capable of endangering the existence of reality itself, for which very few Digimon do so. They have reached. On web pages dedicated to Digimon, they are generally listed as Mega level Digimon for convenience only, although Super Mega level has been confirmed as such in official sources (such as Digimon Adventure V-Tamer 01 manga or Digimon World video game). DS).
When a Digimon "associates" with a human, he can more easily evolve to higher levels. This is due to two factors: proper training and the power of human feelings. With good training, a Digimon stops wasting energy, so it has a better chance of evolving into its most powerful forms. On the other hand, human feelings have the ability to alter the Digicore of Digimon, accelerating the evolution process. There are devices, such as Digivice, which can trigger the process artificially, causing a Digimon to evolve temporarily, using a large amount of energy. However, if the Digimon is injured, weakened, or hungry, the Digivice has no effect.
To maintain an evolved form, a Digimon must consume a large amount of energy. When they reach Mega level, the amount of energy required is enormous. The origin of this energy is the data that is absorbed from the network, which is consumed as food. Digimon must conserve their energy, because if they use it up completely, their body could get sick or they could even go back to previous stages, and in the worst case, the Digimon could go back to being a digi-egg. When the Ultra or Mega body is reached, the energy consumption increases, and also the amount of energy needed. It has been said that the lives of Ultras and Megas are shorter compared to Champions. The easiest way to get energy at these levels, is to consume the data of the already defeated digimon, and the higher the stage of the defeated digimon, the more energy it gets, since it will contain a greater amount of data.
The Super Mega Evolution is a Mythic Evolution, which is believed to be only accessible through the Ancient Digimentals. Its power is superior to that of Mega level Digimon, and it is said that the existence of these digimon puts the balance of reality in the Digital World at risk.

These last two stages are obtained artificially. The Armor evolution is obtained thanks to the use of Digimentals and its power ranges between Champion and Mega Champion/Ultra level, with the exception of the Gold Digimentals, whose power is similar to that of a Mega Champion/Ultra or higher. Digimon at this level easily outperform most Champions, but are inferior to Mega/Ultra Champions.
The Hybrid body can only be obtained by using Digispirits, totems that contain the essence and power of the 10 Legendary Warriors, ancient Digimon that saved the Digiworld from a crisis. Digispirits can also be used by humans, and thus better harness the power of a Digispirit. Hybrid evolution has several sublevels.
Types of Digivolution
Common
- Evolution (estimated) Shinka): As mentioned above, this process of natural evolution of a Digimon.
- Super/ Ultra Evolution (translated translation) Kanzen Shinka): Natural evolution method by which a Digimon evolves to its Perfect or Ultra body.
- Ultra/ Mega developments (continued credibility) Kyuukyoku Shinka): Method of natural evolution of a Digimon to its Supreme/Definitive or Mega body.
- Evolution Chaos or Oscura (innovation) Ankoku Shinka): When the negative feelings of the Chosen Tamer/Niño affect the Digimon Digicore, it can digest into an evil creature that loses all control and becomes a destructive machine. Examples: Greymon to SkullGreymon, WarGrowlmon to Megidramon, shinegreymon a shinegreymon ruin mode.
- DNA evolution (links) Jyoguresu Shinka): Method by which two or more Digimon of the Champion Stage or higher merge to evolve into a creature of the higher level. When the Digimon are combined, their Digicores also do so, combining their consciousness. However, some mergers tend to go wrong, creating Digimon with two or more Digicores, which makes them very unstable, though tremendously powerful. These Digimon are called "Khaosmon"and considered system bugs so they tend to be removed from the Digimundo quickly. In some cases, quite special, a Digimon can give all its energy to another or become a weapon rather than merge to perform the union. The word jogress is a contraction of the English words "Joint"(union) and "Progress" (progress).
- Partition (c) Paatishon): A Digimon product of a DNA evolution fusion is separated to become the Digimons who formed it.
- Evolution Blast (Facilitation oriented oriented oriented oriented Burasuto Eboryuushon): Method of temporary evolution, induced by an Elected Tamer/Niño, which lasts a very short period of time. Digimon evolve in Digimon from higher levels depending on the amount of energy used in them. the Mega body Digimon that evolve in this way, become more powerful versions of themselves. The word blast means ráfaga or explosion in English.
- Change of Mode (Signatures for cycling) Mōdo Chenji): Ability that some Digimon have to transform or change to a special form, acquiring new skills and more power. Example: Imperialdramon to Imperialdramon Fighter Mode, Gallantmon to Gallantmon Crimson Mode etc...
- Alternative Evolution, Change of Evolution (privilegation oriented oriented oriented oriented oriented Suraido Eboryūshon): It is a special form of evolution, where a Digimon becomes another more or less powerful, but without being a natural level evolution. It only occurs under special circumstances or in the ten Legendary Warriors, who can change the Human form to the Animal or Beast, more powerful, and vice versa (although each form has its advantages). Example: Agunimon is transformed into BurningGreymon or vice versa, and may occur at will. In the Latin American (Mexican) fold of Digimon Frontier, human protagonists use the word "digievolves" and antagonists with Spirits“contradigievolves”.

Blast evolution caused by human feelings
- Super/Ultra Evolution (pacemaker Chou Shinka): Method by which a Digimon in the Champion stage can temporarily evolve to his Ultra body, thanks to the power of the emblems, artifacts that contain sacred energy and are activated with the feelings of humans, although usually after exhausting the temporal energy, the Digimon return to the training/baby stage for the great energy expense that entails using this evolution. After a few evolutions, the Digimon becomes more powerful and spends less energy, so it can return to the Children's or Champion stage, depending on the time and training form it has had.
- Ultra/Warp Evolution (CHEDULES) Wāpu Shinka): Method by which a Digimon on the Novato Stage or Champion can evolve directly into the Mega body. The word warp means deform in English. The Warp Evolutions produced by the ancient prophecy of the Digimundo last a short period of time and the Digimon returns to his training/baby stage for the great energy expense involved in jumping stages. After a few evolutions, as in the Super/Ultra evolution, the Digimon can return to the Infant or Champion stage, as it becomes more powerful and consumes less energy, except for the cases in which energy spending is greater than normal or has managed to evolve with little energy, in which it will return again to the War Training/Baby (Example: Agumon, etc.) In order to carry out this digimon the digimon must be imbued with sacred power, in the case of Agumon and Gabumon succeeded in receiving energy from Angemon and Angewomon, Imperialdramon obtained it thanks to the power of the sacred pearl of Qinglongmon and Impmon managed to become Beelzemon with the blessing of Zhuqiaomon.
- Evolution Armor (scarce revitalizing) Armor Shinka): Digievolution method that can only be used by some ancient Digimons when using a Digimental. The word armor means armor in English. Using the different Digimentals, a Digimon can evolve to another, usually with an armored body (with armor) and better armed for the struggle than at the stage of Champion. The Digimentals are artefacts in the form of a small Digitama, which are aligned to an element and a feeling of the particular emblems. The D-3s can make your Digimon return to normal by absorbing the Digimental energy and storing it in the D-Terminal to reuse it later.
- DNA evolution (links) Jyoguresu Shinka): The D-3 of Elected Children together with the power of Gatomon's sacred ring can activate this evolution temporarily with Champion Stage Digimons, however energy spending makes when the Digimon separates both return to their baby stage (Except Patamon and Gatomon that only retrocede one level). Later, as in the Super/Ultra and Ultra/Warp evolutions, the Digimon is becoming more powerful and by separating the two Digimons that formed it back to an increasing level, because they increasingly spend less energy by merging.
- Ultra/Mega evolution (continued credibility) Kyuukyoku Shinka): Paildramon can use this method to evolve in Imperialdramon, thanks to the energy received from Azulongmon.
- Change of Mode (Signatures for cycling) Mōdo Chenji): Imperialdramon can use this ability to transform or change to Imperialdramon Fighter Mode (Warrio Mode), thanks to the energy received from Azulongmon, or Imperialdramon Paladin Mode (Mode Paladin) thanks to the energy received from Omnimon.
Digimon Tamers
Blast Evolution caused by Calumon's holy power and the Super Digivolution S Attachment/Connection card.
- Matrix Evolution (distinctly gaining momentum oriented oriented oriented Matorikkusu Eboryūshon): Method of evolution of a Digimon to your Perfect/Ultra body, which occurs when your Digicore receives the special code programmed in the Blue Letters along with the sacred power of Calumon. This is also called the evolution method used by certain Tamers, by merging with their Digimon to reach the Supreme/Mega body (in the USA version this method is called Biomerge). In this type of evolution appears the naked Tamer (but with proper transparency; yet it is sometimes visible) floating within a luminous data sphere within the Digimon. The consciences of both come together as in DNA evolution, and the Tamer can transfer his energy to the Digimon to fight and have more power.
Digimon Frontier
- Evolution Spirit (“self-sacrifice” Supiritto Eboryūshon): Method of evolution used by a Digimon (usually) or a human to obtain the hybrid body, which occurs when using a single Spirit of the Human or Animal/Bestia type.
- Change of Spirit (privilegation oriented oriented oriented oriented oriented Suraido Eboryūshon): It is not a form of natural evolution, but a method to change the Spirit of an element, passing from the Human Spirit to the Animal/Bestia or vice versa.
- Dual-Spirit developments (sponsoring lice أعربية أعربية Daburu Supiritto Eboryūshon): Method of evolution used by a Digimon (usually) or a human to obtain the hybrid body, with the fusion of the two Digispirts of an element, Human and Animal/Bestia. Seraphimon's power is required to update the D-Scans and carry it out.
- Hyper-Spirit developments (exposing to the challenge of the challenge. Haipā Supiritto Eboryūshon): Method of evolution used by a Digimon (usually) or a human, using 5 pairs of compatible Digispirits. D-Scan is required updated by the power of Ophanimon to carry it out.
- Evolution Spirit Ancient (pacemakers interfered with the challenge of the challenge. Enshento Supiritto Eboryūshon): Method of evolution used by a Digimon (usually) or more of a human to evolve in the legendary Digimon Susanoomonusing all the Spirits at the same time.
Digimon Savers
In this season the evolutions are common but they are activated by different Digisoul controls (DNA in the Latin version).
- Digisoul Charge (DNA Loading): It consists of putting a small part of Digisoul (DNA) to reach the Campeón Stage.
- Digisoul Full Charge (ADN Total Charge): It consists in releasing the entire Digisoul (ADN) of the Tamer and touching the Digivice to get to the Ultra Body.
- Digisoul Charge Overdrive (ADN Loading Mega Carga!): It consists of releasing the entire Digisoul (ADN) into a super energy burst of the Tamer to concentrate everything on the hand and take it to the Digivice, in this way it is reached to the Mega Corps.
- Evolution Burst (receiver counseling oriented oriented oriented oriented oriented)(ADN Loading Explosive Mode!): Evolution method similar to the Blast Evolution. A Definitive Body Digimon, using the Digisoul of its Tamer, evolves to a more temporarily powerful form, known as "Burst Mode" which is the extreme of the Digimon powers. This evolution can be dangerous, as a Digimon in this way can spend all its energy and return to its form of Digitama or take place but with the results of the Dark Evolution, reaching the Ruin Mode. (E.g. ShineGreymon to ShineGreymon Burst Mode).
- Pseudo-Evolution (似 luminous approach Giji Shinka): Method by which a Digimon evolves using artificial Digisoul.
- Híper Bio Evolution (target innovation;;;..... Haipā Baio Eboryūshon - Bio Hybrid DNA Loading): Method of evolution by which a human whose DNA has been mixed with Digimon data evolves into a Bio-Digimon of the Armor body.
- Hyper Bio Extra Evolution (exposing to the challenge,,,...... Haipā Baio Ekisutura Eboryūshon - Bio Hybrid DNA Loading): Method of evolution by which a human whose DNA has been mixed with Digimon data, evolves into a new Bio-Digimon of the Mega body, much more powerful than the previous one.
Digital Monster X-Evolution
- X-evolution (リ did healing Zevoryuushon): Digievolution caused by Antibody X. Antibody X modifies a Digimon's Digicore, expelling the true potential of a Digimon, making Digimon move into a more powerful creature, further shaping his appearance. The main task of this evolution is to make Digimon immune to Program X.Example: Omegamon to Omegamon X.)
- Death-X-evolution (receiver for the sake of innovation Dekusuevoryuushon): A special type of evolution, exclusive to the DORU series (the first series of Digimon Prototypes), which is activated when a digimon of the DORU series has died, causing a reaction in Antibody X that forces the Digicore to continue working, keeping the digimon in state of the "no-death". This type of evolution is also known as the "Advanced Evolution". The term Death-X-evolution is formed by death (Death in English), X (by Antibody X) and evolution.
Digimon Xros Wars
- DigiXros (engineering) Dejikurosu): A special type of evolution (called legendary evolution on the sleeve), which allows two or more digimon to be equipped as weapons or armor to a specific digimon. It seems in theory to DNA evolution, with the difference that the main digimon is who fully controls the consciousness of the new digimon. Normally, the new digimon retains the name of the main digimon plus an indicative that reveals the number of digimon that has been equipped or the new type of weapon that won after the merger (although there are some exceptions of names to this rule). (Example: Shoutmon + Ballistamon equal to Shoutmon X2; Greymon + MailBirdramon equal to MetalGreymon; Shoutmon + Starmon + Pickmons equal to Shoutmon + Star Sword.)
- Super Evolution (Shou Shinka): It is the method of evolution in Xros Wars. Since in this universe, evolution is naturally given by aging, artificial evolution is quite difficult to achieve, and this ability must unlock from the Xros Loader with the strength of human feelings. In the case of OmegaShoutmon, he relied on feelings of courage and friendship, thus giving him the power of Omegamon, while ZeekGreymon relied on the power of Pride.
- Double Xros: It is the DigiXros among the Super Evolutions to form a stronger DigiXros.
- Forced DigiXros: It is a DigiXros where the main Digimon makes DigiXros with other Digimon against their will. Normally, the power of a Darkness Loader is necessary to make the Forced DigiXros.
- Uptake improvement: It is a skill that many Digimon possess, and is used mostly by members of the Bagra Army. With this process, a Digimon is able to absorb data from other Digimon to increase their powers, and gain new weapons and skills.
- Great Xros: It is the DigiXros between the Super Evolutions and one or more normal digimon, to be done three Xros Loader are required. (Example: OmegaShoutmon + ZeekGreymon + Ballistamon + Starmon + Pickmon + Dorulumon + Sparrowmon equal to Shoutmon X7.)
- Final Xros:The digixros contains all the digimemories including the super evolutions.
This was only used by taiki in chapter 54.
