Dievs, Sveti Latviju (English: God bless Latvia) is the national anthem of Latvia. Composed by Kārlis Baumanis in 1873 and officially adopted as an anthem in 1920.

This anthem was banned from 1945 to 1990 when Latvia was part of the Soviet Union. The anthem was readopted on February 16, 1990, months before Latvia declared its independence.
