Dead calm
Dead Calm (titled Total Calm in Spain and Terror a Bordo in Latin America) is a film shot in co-production between the United States and Australia, based on the novel of the same name by Charles Williams.
Plot
After their baby is killed in a car accident, John Ingram (Sam Neill) and his young wife Rae (Nicole Kidman) find themselves sailing on their yacht at sea, far from all shores. They have picked up the sails and are enjoying the calm and good weather. Some distance away they spot a strange-looking ship, and see a small boat with a man approaching his yacht. The man explains that a serious accident has occurred on the ship, that it is sinking and he is the only survivor. John has doubts and decides to personally go to the ship to find out what the reality is. Once he's gone, the man from the boat takes control of the yacht and sails away. Meanwhile John is trapped on the sinking ship.
